Privacy policy

Bébie Journal keeps a record of a baby’s days, and some of it is about health. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it. Your data is controlled by Bébie Journal, which you can reach at team@bebie-journal.app.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, a hashed password or your Google sign-in, your name if you give it, your language and your time zone.
- About your baby: what you record, such as name, date of birth, sex, feeding, sleep, nappies, growth, milestones, foods tried, allergies and reactions, symptoms, temperature, medication, notes and photos. Some of this is health information, which we store only with the explicit consent you give when you set up the app.
- People you share with: whom you invite, and what they may see.
- Payments: if you buy Plus, Paddle tells us the state of your subscription (plan, trial, renewal date) and a customer number. We never see or store card details.
- Use of the app: which features are used, never what is in them, and only if you allow it; and the technical records needed to keep the service secure, such as how often the AI features are called.
Why we use it
- To run the app for you: to keep and show your journal, share it with the people you choose and send the reminders you ask for. This is the contract between us.
- To keep your baby’s health information, on the basis of your explicit consent. You can withdraw it by deleting that information, or your account.
- To see which features are used, so we can improve them, and only with your consent, which you can withdraw in the app at any time.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, for example by limiting how often the AI features can be called. This is our legitimate interest.
We do not sell your data, we show no advertising, and we do not train AI models on it.
AI features
When you make a voice entry, ask Bébie a question or ask for meal ideas, what that request needs (the words or the recording) is sent to our AI provider, currently Google through the Gemini API, to produce the answer. Voice recordings and their transcripts are not kept: they exist only while the request runs. Medical notes are never sent to an AI provider. Answers are saved in your account only where the feature shows them again, such as your conversation with Bébie.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers, each only for its part of the work:
- Supabase: the database, sign-in and its emails, and photo storage, on servers in the EU (Ireland).
- Vercel: hosting of the app, on servers in the EU (Ireland), with a global network to deliver it.
- Google: the AI features, as described above.
- Paddle: payments, as our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle is responsible for the payment details it collects, under its own privacy policy.
- Your browser’s push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla): delivering notifications, if you turn them on.
Some of these providers may process data outside Serbia and the EU. Where they do, it is protected by safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the app needs in order to work: to keep you signed in, to remember your language and the baby you last opened, and to finish signing up or accepting an invitation. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Paddle’s checkout sets its own cookies when you open it to pay.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your data and your baby’s data are deleted, and they leave our backups as those are replaced. Paddle keeps records of payments for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
In the app you can see, correct and export your data, and delete your account with everything in it at any time. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and withdraw your consent. Write to team@bebie-journal.app. If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to Serbia’s Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection (poverenik.rs), or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Bébie Journal is for adults. It holds information about babies and children only as their parents and caregivers record it, and the account holder decides what is recorded and who may see it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change applies.
